Mega Shark versus Giant Octopus

(via)

I have wanted to watch this movie for an eternity. There is nothing I love more than B grade monster movies (see Frankenfish), and let me tell you Mega Shark versus Giant Octopus does not disappoint. The two super monsters are trapped in the ice of the arctic, frozen for millions of years waiting to be freed to continue their epic battle - and who is stuck in the middle - us.

one of the best scenes:

I “learned” a lot while watching this movie:

  1. In order to make a “monster movie” you need a lot of stock footage of random things - sharks, whales, boats, sea gulls, anything that might be relevant that you don’t want to film yourself
  2. All research is done in test tubes, regardless of what you are researching
  3. When in doubt, physics is the reason for most things
  4. Characters required for such a movie: “hot” scientist, asian with a fake asian accent - because authentic ones are hard to come by?, racist, old scientist with an accent, some sort of military guy with fake control over the situation who generally makes bad decisions
  5. you can never kill all the monsters. ever. how can you have sequels if you do?

You should probably watch this movie, definitely don’t pay to though. I wonder if Ice Spiders or Pterodactyl (with Coolio) is on…
